Figure 17: Genomic and complementary DNA and protein structure of the zebrafish GR isoforms.
The zebrafish (z) GR gene consists of 9 exons. The zGR gene expresses zGR and zGR splicing variants through intron retention (337). C-terminal gray colored and shaded domains in zGR and zGR show their specific portions. They are respectively encoded by exon 9 and the 3’ portion of exon 8, which are also shown in the same labeling in the genomic and complementary DNA models. Mouse and rat GR are produced with the same mechanism (339). Modified from (336).
DBD: DNA-binding domain; LBD: Ligand-binding domain; NTD: N-terminal domain; UTR: untranslated region.
